Nomination Day for Local Government Elections (LGE) was held today, with political parties, interest groups, and individuals submitting their lists to contest the elections scheduled for June 12. According to reports, the opposition APNU has a poor showing, with low numbers in many of its strongholds, including Georgetown and Linden. Several former APNU candidates, including former Georgetown Mayor Patricia Chase-Green, have also joined the PPP.
