Phillips also highlighted the significant budgetary allocations made by the People's Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) administration towards the comprehensive vision for the transformation of the region, and assured residents that Bartica and Region Seven were integral parts of the country's development plans. He further commended the private sector for supporting the Bartica Regatta and urged them to play an active role in the region's development.
The Prime Minister went on to applaud the work of the Bartica Town Council and the event's organizing committee. Also present at the event were Mrs. Mignon Bowen-Phillips, the wife of Prime Minister Phillips, Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Oneidge Walrond, Minister within the Office of the Prime Minister with responsibility for Public Affairs Kwame McCoy, Mayor of Bartica Gifford Marshall, regional officials and Members of Parliament.
Region Seven, including Bartica, has witnessed significant improvements in community infrastructure, the welfare of residents, and other crucial sectors. This is a testament to the PPP/C's commitment to development, with the region's capital budget increased by over $500 million in 2023 alone. In conclusion, Prime Minister Phillips affirmed that the government at all levels will continue to work together to bring development to Bartica and improve the lives of all the people of Region Seven.
