Berbice Teen's Murderers Remanded to Prison! OMG | Justice for Keon Byass - News Guyana

 

Today, we have a tragic story coming from Berbice, where an 18-year-old was fatally stabbed. Two brothers have been arrested and charged with the murder. Let's get into the details.

18-year-old Keon Byass was waiting for transportation on Dukestown Public Road in Corriverton, Berbice on Easter Monday when two suspects on a motorcycle approached him. According to the police, the suspects were armed with a cutlass, which they used to chop the victim about his body.

The suspects have been identified as Rokeel Gordon, 21, and Zeikeel Gordon, 24, both of Dukestown, Corriverton, Berbice. They are both laborers and appeared in court today before Magistrate Renita Singh, where they were charged with murder.


The brothers were not required to plead and were remanded to prison. The case has been transferred to Springlands Magistrate's Court for report and disclosure on May 18.

The injured Byass was rushed to Skeldon Public Hospital and subsequently transferred to New Public Amsterdam. However, he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
